Sarah J. May is a board-certified nurse practitioner with 13 years of experience providing high-quality and compassionate care across diverse clinical settings. Specializing in adult-gerontology acute care, Sarah is known for a patient-centered approach that emphasizes education, preventive care, and building strong provider-patient relationships.

Sarah earned a dual Masters of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing (May ’24), following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, School of Nursing and Health Sciences (May ’12). Additionally, she holds a national certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and maintains active licensure in the state of Ohio.

Throughout her career, Sarah has specialized in critical care and critical care transport, developing expertise in managing acute and chronic conditions, coordinating interdisciplinary care, promoting health and wellness, and advocating for individuals and families from point of injury/illness through rehabilitation and recovery.

Currently serving as a nocturnal hospitalist at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, Sarah works in collaboration with the hospitalist physician to deliver first-class, personalized patient care. Prior to this role, she has held positions at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and The James Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, Wooster Community Hospital, and Kingston of Vermilion. Additionally, Sarah served 11 years in the United States Air Force Reserves as a Flight Nurse at the rank of Major with the 911th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Pittsburgh, PA.

Sarah continues to build a distinguished nursing career marked by her strategic vision, innovative leadership, and high level independent clinical decision making. She has achieved and been recognized for outstanding clinical competency, excellence in academic achievement, and commitment to patient safety. Moreover, Sarah is passionate about mentorship, inclusive nursing education, continuous quality improvement, and functional medicine. Finally, she is actively involved with the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses (OAAPN), advocating for full practice authority for nurse practitioners in the state of Ohio.

In her role as an aesthetic injector, Sarah strives to bring a natural appearance to men and women throughout the inevitable aging process. Additionally, she strives to utilize aesthetic treatments as alternative approaches for the treatment and management of migraines, muscle tension, trigger points, and TMJ. Sarah received her aesthetic training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) for botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers, and both smooth and lifting PDO threads. Sarah continues to support collaborative efforts between women-owned businesses with like-minded goals supporting men and women in their self-care journeys.

Outside of clinical practice, Sarah lives on and maintains her family farm as the fifth generation. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, family and close friends, completing puzzles, reading, crafting, and being outdoors camping, hiking, or kayaking.
